As a couple living on the west coast and planning an east coast wedding, we were super excited that on a super last minute trip into town, Matthew was able to meet up with us for an engagement session! If Matt didn't require this as part of the process, we probably would not have done an engagement shoot...my fiancé and I are very camera shy and get super awkward when we get our photo taken. Matt explained that this is exactly why it is important to do an engagement shoot- it's a practice run for the big day and gives you the opportunity to get a little more comfortable being yourselves in front of Matthew and the camera.

We started with a few photos inside on a couch as the weather wasn't the best. Although very nervous at first, Matt's easy-going and confident energy quickly broke us down and kept us laughing the whole time. He was great at giving us direction and cues to create some very sweet and memorable photographs.

Despite the wind and cold, I still really wanted to get some photos in the public garden. This part was such a blast! Matthew continued to set up incredible shots, as well as let us come up with some of our own. We felt we could completely be ourselves, and that definitely shows in the photos.

This experience has been by far one of the best moments in our wedding planning process, and got us both SO excited for our wedding!  It is a huge relief knowing Matthew will be there to help us through the day, and we feel so confident knowing he will so beautifully capture all the moments of our special day!
