7 Last Minute Wedding Day Tips

Break-in Your Wedding Shoes

We all have those shoes that we can walk for hours in, and another pair we getting from the door to the car is a struggle. When you get to your wedding we want to be as comfortable as possible. This is why we highly recommend breaking in those shoes ahead of time. Try wearing them to work, or taking them for a walk around the block with your fiancè. I understand you want them to look perfect on your special day, but I also want you to be able to wear them all day or at least until the dancing starts.

Pay Your Vendors

We know that. there. are tons of moving components when it comes to your wedding and all the people, vendors, and services involved. I always tell my clients that buttoning everything up 30 days ahead of time makes for a smooth, stress-free wedding day.

Finalize the Guest Count

The finalized list is who has said they will be there, a list to give to your vendors, and to make a seating chart. It is important that you reach out to those who might be dragging their feet on the RSVP to find out if they will be making it or not. I recommend three to four weeks before the wedding is a great time to touch base and see if they can make it or not!

Confirm Travel Details

Honeymoon? Traveling upstate, or out of state? Traveling adds another layer of difficulty and potential stress to your wedding day. 7 to 14 days ahead of all you travel plans, check-in on your flight, hotel, or other bookings to make sure that nothing has changed. Knowing if anything has changed ahead of time will let you pack appropriately and make adjustments with ease.

After Your Last Fitting, Have One More

Consider a final dress rehearsal five or six days before you walk down the aisle. Try on everything you plan to wear on the day of the wedding—undergarments, shoes, veil—and make sure it all really works and you're happy with it. If a strapless gown is suddenly a little too loose, take the dress to a local seamstress and have it tacked.

Prepare Cash Tips in Advance

If you plan on tipping vendors on your wedding day, pull out all of the cash a week in advance, divvy it up, and seal it in envelopes so they are ready to go. Then delegate the task of handing out envelopes to your Maid of Honor, so it is one less thing for you to think about or do. "You just want to be a bride that day and have fun."

Get Your Beauty Rest, If You Can

You've put so much effort into making this the day you have always envisioned. With everything else nearly complete, book a facial or massage and keep your nails in great shape. These are the last few weeks of your engagement—enjoy them.
